Hello my pretty! I see you fell down the rabbit hole that is my blog. I have tried to find the ruby slippers to get out of this place, but so far I am trapped here. Maybe you will have more luck finding your way out than me.

Are you starting to see why I call myself Wacknut? I am wacky and nutty so I figured if I merged the two together it was more than fitting for me. Don't be surprised if you find more references to fairy tales and childhood pop culture mixed in here and there.

I got my start stringing beads together, but in the last year I have started to broaden my horizons. It all got started with my amazement of seeing what you could make by twisting wire around. That quickly turned into pounding on metal, sawing out shapes in sheets of metal, stamping letters and designs into those shapes I cut out and torching things.

Don't ask me how it happened, but I think I now have more tools than some guys! EEK! The really scary part is that I have never mastered any one of the aspects that I mentioned above. This blog is to track my success and failures. Right now the failures seem to be greater than the successes. That's normal, right?

I figure that at the rate I finish projects, I will be 80 before I master metalsmithing.

Thank you for looking at my blog.  If you don't mind checking in on me from time to time I would greatly appreciate it.    I might need you to rescue me from a fire breathing dragon or the giant piece of metal that keeps trying to fall on me!

Don't forget to check out my shop,  Designs by Wacknut, it is the only tunnel that leads to light around here.

If a cat gets 9 lives, how many does Wile E. Coyote have?

If you wander off the beaten path you might get lost, but sometimes you must get lost in order to find yourself.

Singing a song of sixpence will get you non the richer.

Never trust a squirrel for directions!
Smiling only gives those around you a false sense of security.

The power of the pen will get you in the end. That's why it is always best to type.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, but he had no great fall. You see,  Little Miss Muffet was frighted from her tuffet by a spider.  This gave Humpty a great laugh and she knew she had to craft a wrath.   She told all her friends of his great fall from the very large wall.  Humpty thought this a bit rough so he tried to hire the Billy Goat Gruff.  Humpty found Gruff was wasn’t so tough and lived in a land where he a plan to hang out with Peter Pan.

Google says you're just a Yahoo who doesn't know how to search for anything.

Shoot for the stars, but expect to hit the ground.

Crying over spilled milk will only make the puddle bigger.
